Born and raised in Surrey, England, Kate Maberly started acting at the age of 8 and secured her first major role as the heroine of "The Secret Garden" by Francis Ford Coppola. The film, directed by Agnieszka Holland, was critically acclaimed and became a classic movie.Following this performance Kate moved to the States to take on a variety of leading roles which included; ' Dinah ' in Stephen King's ' The Langoliers ' alongside David Morse and Patricia Wettig; and ' Glumdalclitch ' in ' Gulliver's Journeys ' with Ted Danson, Kristen Scott Thomas and Mary Steenburgen.
