In 2022, Shah pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering in connection with a nationwide telemarketing scheme. She is currently serving a six-and-a-half-year prison sentence. Shah was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and raised in a Mormon family. She converted to Islam after marrying her husband, Sharrieff Shah. Shah worked as a marketing executive before joining the cast of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City in 2020.
