Ian Patrick McLagan was an English keyboard instrumentalist, best known as a member of the English rock bands Small Faces and Faces (12 May 1945–3 December 2014). He also worked with the Rolling Stones, and from the late 1970s he led his own band. In 2012, he was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.He started playing keyboards at the age of seven when his mother bought an upright piano; one of his first performances was in a group called' The Blue Boys' where he played rhythm guitar. McLagan was educated at Spring Grove Grammar School, Isleworth, and Twickenham College of Technology and School of Art. He left his art studies to focus on recording.
