Edith Falco, named Edie, was born Judith Anderson, an artist, and Frank Falco, a jazz drummer, in Brooklyn, New York, on July 5, 1963. She is of descent from Italian (father) and Swedish, English and (mother) Cornish. Edie grew up on Long Island and attended SUNY Purchase, where she was educated to perform at the prestigious Arts and Film Theatre Conservatory. Upon graduating, she moved to Manhattan, auditioning for roles and promoting herself the best she could; for instance, hosting events with an entertainment company where she would wear a Monster Cookie outfit and invite people to get on the dance floor.
