He appeared onstage after graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. At last, he made his Broadway debut with Shirley Knight in "The Watering Spot," a flop that lasted but one run. (He was more successful during the 1970 season with "The Chinese and Dr. Fish," which lasted only three weeks.
