American actress best known for starring in films such as Aliens, Ghostbusters, Working Girl, Galaxy Quest and Gorillas in the Mist. She is known as "Queen of Sci-Fi". She was raised in Manhattan. After she graduated from Standford University, she decided to get involved in acting ( thats not a suprise after the fact that her mother and uncle were both actors). She's been nominated seven times for Golden Globe Award ( in 1988 she won two awards, that made her the first person to win two acting Golden Globes in the same year.) and other nominees from Academy and Tony Awards.
