How tall was Ruth Gordon?

Once her father, a sea captain, was persuaded by Ruth Gordon to let her try acting she moved to New York and trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. In 1915 she acted in a pair of silences made at Fort Lee, New Jersey. The same year, she made her Broadway debut as Nibs in "Peter Pan." She spent the next 20 years on stage, and also starred in the successful production of "The Country Girl" in 1936 at the Old Vic in London. She returned to movies for a short period almost 25 years after her film debut. She quit to return to theater for Hollywood. Back in New York, she married Garson Kanin in 1942 (their first husband, the stage actor Gregory Kelly, died in 1927). They continued to compose scripts, and then her husband worked on screenplays for Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy, whose screen partnership was based on their own marriage.
