Randall David Johnson (born September 10, 1963), nicknamed "The Big Unit," is a retired American professional baseball player who played for six clubs for 22 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB), from 1988 to 2009. He starred for the Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks in the first place. His 303 career wins counted fourth in MLB history for a liberal, while his 4,875 strikeouts counted sixth in MLB history.He has five of the seven highest strikeout totals in a single season by a left-hander in baseball history. Johnson has received the Cy Young Award five times, second only to the seven of Roger Clemens, and he is one of only two starters (the other being Greg Maddux) to receive the award in four straight seasons (1999–2).
