Nasim Pedrad (born 18 November 1981) is an American actress and comedian best known as a cast member on Saturday Night Live (1975) for her five seasons from 2009 to 2014. Since then, she's co-starredin sitcoms including Mulaney (2014), Scream Queens (2015), People of Earth (2016) and New Girl (2011).Pedrad was raised into a Muslim family, in Tehran, Iran. Her parents are Amani Arasteh and Pedrad Parviz. When she was three years old Pedrad's family emigrated to the United States in 1984. Her younger sister is Nina Pedrad, a comedy-writer. All sisters fluently speak Persian.
