She grew up in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, graduating from Archbishop Prendergast High School, and moved to Los Angeles when she was 25, where she worked for 4 years in Promotions for A&M records, and joined the Groundlings, a comedy group focused on improv-sketches.One night, a Saturday Night Live (1975) rep was in the crowd and liked her, so she flew to audition down to New York, did it, and made her debut on September 9, 1995.
