Robert Francis George (born in Manor Park, London, on 16 December 1945) is an English tv personality and former professional darts player. He is commonly remembered as one of the best personalities of the game, noted for his flamboyant entrances when the "King of Darts" takes his way to the jewelry-covered stage, wearing a crown and robe and carrying a candelabra for the We Ar Queen album.George played numerous leading dart competitions, played twice the World Darts Championship News, participated in two finals of the BDO Darts World Championship and became the first full-time exhibition player. He has also served as a co-presenter and ambassador of the game for the BBC since 1998 in their coverage of the dart tournaments. George took up darts at age 30 and rapidly progressed, winning the first tournament he played, before making his first debut less than a year later at the World Masters. He also won many major tournaments, including the World Championship News in 1979 and 1986, the 1979 and 1980 Butlins Grand Masters, the 1978 North American Open and the 1980 Nations Cup.
