Beverley Knight, MBE (born Beverley Anne Smith; March 22, 1973), is an English recording artist and actress in music theater who recorded her debut album, The B-Funk, in 1995. Knight has released eight studio albums, which are strongly inspired by American soul music legends such as Sam Cooke and Aretha Franklin. Widely considered one of the finest soul singers in Britain, Knight is best known for her hits "Greatest Day", "Get Up!", "Shoulda Woulda Coulda" and "Come as You Are".By starring in the BBC pop Television show Only the Two of Us, a role she reprised in 2007, Knight solidified her entrance into the mainstream in 2006. Knight went on the UK with a reunited Take That after releasing a platinum- compilation album in 2006.
